Description
Container Surveillance and Localisation
A container can be localised by means of triangulation in a bi-directional pager network. The ASAP unit includes Sensors for different applications, such as temperature for freezer container, gas sensors for bromide transporters and sensors for the surveillance of the doors. |

Challenges
Art of Technology was responsible for the Sensors and their interface to the Communication unit. Unobtrusive installable IP65 proof housing. |

Solution
Acceleration and temperature sensors are mounted on a piggy back module on the communication unit. The sensor board includes its own intelligence in an ATMEGA128. The microcontroller triggers the communication unit in case of alarms. The sensor board further accepts external temperature sensors, reed switches and gas sensors specially adapted by Art of Technology.

ASAP provides a low-power stand-alone alternative to standard
GSM/GPS based track & trace solutions.
Sensor subsystems provide valuable add-on information on freight status, and can propagate critical situations fast to emergency forces, reducing risk & effort and subsequently insurance premiums. Due to its standard RS485 protocol, the Art of Technology modular sensor board design interfaces with other track and trace systems. |
