Challenges

Research a novel sensor concept for use in wearable monitoring devices with prototypes for medical trials.

The major challenge was the size, weight and power consumption restrictions combined with a completely new measurement technology and stringent regulatory issues.

Solutions

AoT developed the electronics in a 2-step development process using different levels of SMT and COB to reduce the volume of electronics enabling them to fit into a wrist-wearable, ergonomically formed housing.

The software developed especially for this application controls watch and measurements, converts sensor raw data into sensor readings and application of customer supplied on-line algorithm into fix point code on the device.
